Many people prone to fullness probably noticed that in the winter period they gain more extra pounds than in the summer period. And those who are proud of their ideal figure also observe a similar trend – in winter even their perfect weight is at least insignificant, but is added. And there are reasons for this – in the winter, the human body, in accordance with its biological rhythm, begins to fight cold and frosts and slows down metabolic processes. And this, in turn, leads to the appearance of extra pounds in a person. At first glance, it seems that the circle is closed and there is no way out. But, fortunately, this is not so – if you suffer from “winter” kilograms, then read this article – in it we will tell you what to do so as not to gain excess weight in winter.

How not to gain weight in winter

Let’s start our story with food. And, to be more specific, from the fact that during the winter period, food is best eaten hot. Firstly, hot food in cold weather resists possible colds and cold during this period. Secondly, food taken hot, according to doctors, lingers in the human gastrointestinal tract much longer than cold food. This means only one thing – hot food saturates the human body gradually and slowly for several hours after taking it, and therefore provides a feeling of satiety for this time.

It is very useful to consume various soups in food during the winter months – for example, these can be low-calorie first vegetable dishes. Include mushroom, potato, tomato, pea soups in your daily diet – they perfectly saturate and give a long-lasting feeling of satiety.

Of course, for those who suffer from extra pounds gained in winter, it is undesirable to include a large amount of sweets and flour products in their diet. It is better to replace them with vegetables or sweet, but less high-calorie fruits – fiber and pectin in these products saturate the body for a long time.

Oddly enough, but in order not to get fat in winter, it is equally important to wear the right clothes. Wear tight-fitting underwear that will always keep you in good shape and remind you that you can easily gain extra pounds.

How not to gain weight in winter

In winter, it is very important to remain physically active, despite the weather conditions. On weekends, get out into nature more often, breathe fresh air, admire the infrequent winter sun. Don’t forget that there are great winter sports like skating, skiing, snowboarding and even sledding.

But, unfortunately, such activities may not be enough, especially if you easily put on weight, and this is especially noticeable in winter. In this regard, you can be recommended to regularly visit a sports club or fitness center. It is advisable to pay special attention to strength sports that support the correct metabolism in the human body and do not allow extra pounds to be deposited on your hips and waist. Sometimes it is useful to take up a sport that is new to you – while you are mastering its basics, you will get used to the fact that you need to keep fit in this regard and you yourself will begin to refuse buns and cakes.

And now let’s talk about such foods that it is very desirable to include in the winter menu for everyone, and especially for those who are overweight.

The first is garlic, which is a proven fact, a natural antibiotic. In addition to helping you not catch a cold, it has a great effect on blood vessels and the heart, which, in overweight people, tend to work with increased stress.

How not to gain weight in winter

In winter, the human body usually lacks vitamin C. An excellent source of this important and necessary vitamin is green pepper, which, in addition to its usefulness, dulls the desire to consume sweet foods due to the fact that it affects certain receptors in the oral cavity.

If you like to snack between meals, then in winter it is still recommended to give up this bad habit. As a last resort, if this is difficult for you, you can sometimes allow yourself to snack on nuts or dried fruits, but, naturally, they should be consumed in small quantities.
