In the modern world there is a huge amount of vibrant entertainment – colorful electronic games, chic malls in plastic and metal, spectacular events. But sometimes you want to learn new things, release emotions, feel “live” material, and ground yourself. A great way to do this is to touch upon such an ancient craft as creating ceramics on a potter’s wheel. Clay, oddly enough, does not lie underfoot – at least not for residents of a metropolis, and there is often no room for such activities in the apartment, and most do not have a pottery wheel lying around at home. Therefore, in order to try your hand, to get pure pleasure from creative work without the disadvantages of cleaning, arranging the workplace and mastering difficult technologies through trial and error, you should go to a special location. You can practice wheel throwing in Los Angeles in the studio, which is called Pottery Studio 1. There, your experiments will be guided by an experienced mentor and there is everything you need to create crafts – consumables, space, tools, equipment for the full cycle of creating pottery. Including a kiln, where the craft will be properly fired so that it is durable and beautiful.
How does the studio work?
A standard lesson takes 2 hours. The establishment’s working hours are divided into several two-hour intervals, please leave a request for a suitable day and period. Open all week. The studio is located on Beverly Boulevard and is easily accessible. One parking space is provided for a two-hour vehicle stay, but the organizers cannot guarantee that it will be free.
The standard program comes in two types: a ceramics class (plus firing), or a ceramics class with coloring. In this case, there are two firing sessions; colored and transparent glazes appear in the list of materials. The cost of the first option is 25% cheaper.
Additionally, you do not need to pay anything or go through a complicated registration procedure for the club. Just book a lesson and pay the price indicated in the price list.
The work can, of course, be picked up after firing. Visitors make dishes, vases, candlesticks, etc. All products can be used for their intended purpose.
How to make the experience more interesting?
The format of a pottery master class can be used for family leisure, a romantic evening, corporate team building, birthday or other party. See the details on the website – what are the age limits and the number of participants, what is included in the set. For example, for those celebrating, the studio can offer protective aprons, beautiful invitations, snacks and a number of accessories for the feast (you bring the main treats with you). There are also specially organized excursions for schoolchildren and children’s educational activities for visitors from 3 years old. If after the first master class you want to delve deeper into ceramics, you can sign up for a series of classes or visit a studio for free creativity.
