Around the world, structures in the form of certain animals are becoming increasingly popular. Within the boundaries of a small town called Tirau, there are already several rather unusual houses.
New Zealand is world famous for its huge wool production. There is nothing surprising in the fact that several structures appeared in the town, which, with all the fullness of responsibility, can be called real monuments to the shepherd dog (the main assistant to the shepherd) and the sheep, from which all the wool is extracted.
Stephen Cloutier, one of the local architects, decided to design unusual objects. So in 1994, the first of the unusual buildings appeared – Sheep house, a building in the form of a sheep. This complex currently houses a wool shop. The owners of the building decided not to stop there, and four years later, a new unusual building was erected near their building – Sheepdog building. In its form and from the visual side, the building resembles a dog that guards a sheep around the clock, as it was from ancient times in real life. Ovcharka – a complex in which there is a specialized agricultural information center.
In the inner part, all the walls of the dog building were decorated with very beautiful murals, painted by artist Fred Luckman. It also managed to arrange several exquisite stained-glass windows.
In the town of Tirau, it is customary to use specialized corrugated iron sheets as a material for construction.
Unusual buildings in this aspect did not become an exception to the traditions of architecture. A similar sheet structure of iron made it possible to create an unusual effect of a woolen bond. After these unusual buildings appeared in the city, the flow of tourists has increased significantly.
